Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why do I need a transducer guard?

A. Stumps, rocks and thick grass can rip the transducer off your trolling motor. You paid big bucks for your electronics so why not protect it. Who has time for repairs when you should be catching fish.

Q. What is the" Wee Vee"? guard made of?
A. The "Wee Vee"? guard is very durable, made of 1/8" steel, then powder coated for a rock solid finish. Also included are 2 - heavy duty marine grade stainless steel clamps.

Q. Will the "Wee Vee"? guard fit my motor?
A. This guard will fit various trolling motors up to a 4" diameter with a rear skeg. The U part of the guard is a thinner gauge then the guard itself. The reason for this is when you clamp the guard to the motor, as you drawl the clamps up it will form itself to the motor. Or it may be opened up and drawn on to the largest motors.

Q. Can this guard be used on transom mounted motors?
A. Yes. This guard can also be used on transom mounted trolling motors. There is no need to drill holes in the transom of your boat, to mount a transducer.

Q. Can I transfer this guard from one boat to another?
A. Yes, it can be moved from one motor to the next in minutes.

Q. What makes this guard so great?
A. The guards are mounted separate from the transducer mount. The unique design of the angled guard, deflects underwater hazards and grass away from transducer. The angled design of the guard helps take the impact off the trolling motor.

Q. Is the "Wee Vee"? guard hard to install?
A. No, these guards are easy to install. All that is needed is a 5/16" nut driver or a standard flathead screwdriver would be sufficient.

Q. Is there any maintenance needed on these guards?
A. The only maintenance required is to check the stainless clamps to make sure they are snug. Do not over tighten.

Q. Will this guard keep my transducer mount from slipping on my motor?
A. Yes, because the guard is mounted separately from the transducer therefore there is no pressure or impact to transducer or mount to cause slipping.

Q. Does the wire to the transducer interfere with the guard?
A. Not at all, it is also separate from the guard.

Q. Do you need to have a transducer mounted on your trolling motor to use the WEE VEE™?
A. Not at all, the WEE VEE? will also help protect the skeg on your trolling motor upon impact.

Q. Will the WEE VEE? work with a puck transducer as well as a skimmer transducer?
A. The WEE VEE? will protect puck style transducers as well as skimmer transducers.

Q. Will it hurt the signal from the transducer if the transducer over laps the guard a little when installed?
A. Not at all, You may over lap the transducer about 3/8 of an inch. Some transducers you may over lap more than others. You will need to experiment with it some.
